  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs

The Depth Dismemberer is the kind of creature that makes players reconsider their life choices the moment it fills the battle mat. Part arthropod, part nightmare, this sculpt heaves forward with coiled, armoured segments and a mass of grasping, clawed limbs — a profile that reads as deeply, instinctively wrong in the best possible way. Blade-tipped appendages flare wide from both sides, each one curved to a wicked edge, whilst a tangle of smaller hooked claws cluster at its chest and abdomen. The creature's head rears back, jaws agape, crowned with a jagged crest of chitinous spines. Every surface is layered with overlapping scales and carapace plates that reward a careful painter — from the ribbed armoured belly to the textured, feather-like flank growths.

The Dismemberer crouches on a sculpted scenic base of fractured Underdark crystal formations, broken stone pillars, and scattered debris — including what appears to be the remnants of a previous unfortunate encounter. This base adds genuine narrative weight to the model and makes it a compelling display piece even before a drop of paint is applied. The multipart construction allows for careful assembly and gives the finished model impressive presence on the table.

Whether you are building a subterranean ambush encounter, statting it out as a reskinned Chuul, Roper variant, or wholly original homebrew horror, the Depth Dismemberer delivers the kind of visceral, large-creature energy that elevates a session from memorable to legendary.

This miniature suits adventurers who:

  • Want a large-format Underdark monster that genuinely unnerves their players
  • Love painting chitin, carapace, and layered creature textures
  • Are running campaigns that venture beneath the surface — drow cities, aboleth lairs, or deep-earth delves
  • Collect display-worthy creature sculpts as centrepieces alongside their gaming collection

Encounter Hook

The party is mid-rest in a collapsed dwarven mine when the floor buckles and the Depth Dismemberer erupts from below, scattering crystal shards and pulverised stone. It has no interest in fleeing — it has been hunting them since they entered the tunnels three days ago, and it has finally run them to ground.
