The Deer Horror Full Corruption is the final, terrible stage of something that was once a creature of the wood. The sculpt captures a fully skeletal beast — ribcage exposed and splayed, spine articulated in grotesque detail, and a crown of gnarled antler-like branches erupting from the skull in a twisted halo. Multiple snarling secondary skulls cluster at the shoulders, suggesting a creature that has absorbed the dead around it, or simply refuses to stop dying.
Two separate sculpts are shown in the product images: a slightly smaller variant with a low, stalking pose among graveyard stones, and a larger, more confrontational variant rearing upright with one clawed limb braced against a broken grave marker. Both are rendered in unpainted grey resin in the photography, giving a clear view of the extraordinary surface detail — every vertebra, every cracked rib, every knotted spur of bone is crisply resolved. A loose spine and scattered bones litter the base of the larger variant, adding to the sense of accumulated death.
The sculpt sits somewhere between undead beast and corrupted nature spirit — equally at home as a Blighted creature in a diseased forest, a Shadowfell predator, a servant of a necromancer's will, or a wholly original apex threat for a wilderness horror campaign. Painters will find the exposed skeletal structure and tangled antler crown genuinely rewarding to work with — washes, OSL from within the skull cavities, and a desaturated palette will all sing on this piece.
This miniature is well suited to adventurers who:
- Run wilderness horror or dark druid campaigns with corrupted nature themes
- Need a distinctive Blighted beast, undead predator, or Shadowfell creature encounter
- Want a centrepiece monster that reads as deeply wrong from across the table
- Are building a display piece that rewards fine detail painting techniques
Encounter Hook: The druids of Thornhollow have been burning their dead for three seasons — not for ceremony, but because the bodies don't stay buried. Last night the Thornwood itself went quiet, and the scouts sent to investigate have not returned. Now something is moving at the tree line, antlers catching the moonlight above a grinning skull, and the village elder is asking the party to please, please not let it reach the children.
