Description

It drags itself from the shallows with a guttural shriek — half-human, half-something the sea has no right to create — claws splayed wide and maw stretched open in blind, ravenous hunger.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Deep One Spawn occupies that particular horror niche where the familiar becomes grotesque — a body that was once humanoid now stretched and warped by abyssal saltwater corruption. This sculpt by Epic Miniatures captures the creature mid-crawl: muscular arms braced against the ground, webbed claws raking forward, the serpentine lower body coiled with ropy, taut sinew. One arm thrusts upward with a spread of finned, webbed fingers like a drowning thing breaking the surface — except this one is reaching for you.

The face is where the sculptor really earns their salt. Pronounced brow ridges, small pointed ears swept back, and a wide-open mouth full of needle teeth locked in a snarl — it reads as feral and relentless. The upper body is lean and muscular with a subtly scaled or chitinous texture across the torso, while the lower half suggests a creature built for dark water as much as land. There is nothing comfortable about this miniature, which is precisely the point.

Whether you're running a coastal horror campaign, a Lovecraftian one-shot, or seeding a Sahuagin lair with something truly unsettling in the shallows, this Spawn drops onto the table and immediately changes the atmosphere. It also rewards a skilled painter — washed in deep greens, sickly blues, and pale underbelly tones, it will be a centrepiece of any aquatic encounter set.

  • Dungeon Masters running coastal or underwater horror encounters
  • Adventurers building out a Deep One or Sahuagin warband
  • Painters drawn to creature work with strong anatomical texture
  • Collectors who appreciate Lovecraftian and aberrant monster sculpts

Encounter Hook: The village of Crestholm has gone silent. When the party investigates, they find the harbour abandoned and the lower quarter flooded — and something pale and snarling is already dragging itself up the cobblestones toward the inn, leaving a trail of brine and claw marks in the stone. The Deep One Spawn is not the worst thing that came ashore tonight. It is merely the fastest.
