Description

Something pulled itself from the black water — half-human, half-something older, its claws raking the dock as the tide rolled back in silence.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Deep One Spawn is a creature caught between two worlds — not quite the coastal villager it once was, and not yet the fully transformed horror lurking in the abyss. That threshold is what makes this sculpt so compelling. The figure surges forward mid-stride, jaw wrenched open in a guttural snarl, its elongated clawed hands splayed wide and ready to tear. Bony spines erupt from its shoulders and run the length of its spine, and the webbed, taloned feet grip the ground with predatory intent. A knotted rope loincloth — a last vestige of its former life — wraps around its waist, a detail that makes the transformation feel all the more unsettling.

The sculpt rewards careful painting. The musculature is taut and defined, the surface texture shifting between smooth, scaled, and ridged flesh — offering plenty of contrast for washes and layering. Whether you go for a pallid, deep-sea white, a mottled swamp green, or the blue-grey of something dragged from an oceanic trench, this miniature carries the paint with confidence. It sits just as well in a display case as it does on the gaming table.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Run aquatic horror campaigns with Lovecraftian or eldritch overtones
  • Need a credible mid-tier threat for coastal, harbour, or sea-cave encounters
  • Want a creature that reads as once-human — for transformation storylines or cult encounters
  • Are building out a Deep One warband or tiered encounter group
  • Enjoy painting challenging organic textures with strong muscular definition

Encounter Hook

The fishing village of Crestmere has not sent a trade boat in three weeks. When the party investigates, they find the harbour deserted — nets still in the water, fires still smouldering. Then, at dusk, the first spawn hauls itself onto the jetty, drawn by the sound of voices it almost remembers.
