Death, Life's End is one of those rare sculpts that makes a room go quiet. Perched atop a jagged rocky outcrop with great wings thrown wide, this skeletal avian entity radiates a sense of terrible finality. Its skull-beaked head cranes forward on a gaunt, feathered neck; its long taloned legs grip the stone like a raptor mid-stoop; its ragged feathers trail like a shroud. This is not a monster that lurks in the dark — it is one that descends from above with the inevitability of a closing door.
Sculpted at a larger-than-standard display scale, Death, Life's End commands the table in a way that no ordinary encounter piece can. Whether you're running it as a made-manifest personification of mortality, a colossal undead fiend, or the avatar of some long-dead death god finally roused from slumber, this miniature carries the visual weight to justify whatever legend you build around it. It works equally well as a centrepiece on a collector's shelf — the sculptural drama of that wingspan alone earns it a place in any display cabinet.
Well-suited to adventurers who:
- Need a centrepiece BBEG or boss encounter that actually stops players in their tracks
- Are running campaigns with themes of death, fate, undeath, or divine judgement
- Want a large-scale display piece with exceptional sculptural detail
- Are looking for a miniature that works as a lich herald, avatar of a death deity, or apex undead creature
- Collect display-scale minis for painting challenges and showcase shelves
Encounter Hook:
The village had left offerings at the crossroads for seven generations — a deal struck with something that called itself the Shepherd. But when the last elder died without passing on the ritual, the offerings stopped. Three nights later, the party crests the hill above the village to find every soul gone silent, and a vast feathered shape roosting atop the church spire, head tilted, patient as the grave, waiting to collect what is owed.
Death, Life's End is sculpted at a larger display scale — the base is 80mm, making this considerably larger than a standard 32mm miniature. This is an intentional choice by the artist, designed to give the piece the presence of a true boss character. The scenic rocky base is included and fits together with a small amount of adhesive. If you'd like the piece scaled differently, get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
