Description

Born in the hellish wastes of Avernus and bred for the hunt, the death dog runs with two heads and twice the hunger — and it has already picked up your party's scent.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is Death Dog 01 — the first sculpt in Novaminis' death dog range — and it doesn't waste a moment. The pose captures the beast mid-lunge, forepaws splayed and body low to the ground, every muscle coiled for the strike. One head hangs with a cold, predatory focus; the other is thrown wide open in a full snarl, rows of jagged teeth on full display. The contrast between those two expressions — one calculating, one feral — is what makes this sculpt so characterful.

Coarse, matted fur erupts in a ruff across the chest and neck, sculpted with enough texture to reward a drybrush and wash approach. The rest of the body is sleek and muscular, the hide drawn tight over a frame built entirely for pursuit and violence. Clawed feet dig into the earth; the braided, feathered tail trails behind it like a war banner. This is a creature that looks like it hunts in packs — and like it enjoys it.

Whether you're running a session in Avernus, unleashing hellhound-adjacent horrors on an unsuspecting party, or adding a genuinely menacing beast to a monster display, Death Dog 01 delivers the presence the stat block promises.

A good pick for adventurers who:

  • Need a two-headed canine monster for a D&D 5e or Pathfinder encounter
  • Are building out an Avernus or lower-planes encounter set
  • Want a beast mini with genuine character rather than a generic wolf pose
  • Paint animalistic monsters and want rich fur texture to work with
  • Collect display-worthy creature sculpts alongside their gaming pieces

Encounter Hook

The party is three days into the Avernus wastes when they hear it — not a howl, but two overlapping growls that never quite sync, coming from opposite sides of the road at once. By the time the torchlight catches the gleam of four eyes low in the dust, the death dog is already close enough that both heads are deciding which one gets the first bite.
