The Death Companion is a plague doctor sculpt that leans hard into the macabre. Clad in layered travelling robes with a wide-brimmed hat and the unmistakable long-beaked mask of the pestilent healer, this figure carries a towering scythe-staff in one hand and a mysterious orb at the belt. The cloak billows behind them, and the sculpt is packed with small details — buckled boots, a heavy leather apron, pouches and vials at the waist. This is a figure that reads as deeply unsettling from across the table, which is exactly what a good Death Companion should do.

Whether you cast them as a wandering sawbones with morally ambiguous methods, a herald of a dying god, or a player character physician who's seen too much, this sculpt carries enormous narrative weight. It sits equally well in a Gothic horror setting, a grim low-fantasy world, or a Ravenloft campaign where the line between healer and harbinger has long since blurred.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Want a plague doctor NPC with real presence and menace
  • Are running a Ravenloft, Dark Sun, or Gothic horror campaign
  • Play a Cleric, Warlock, or Wizard with a macabre aesthetic
  • Collect display miniatures that reward close-up painting
  • Need a memorable quest-giver, rival, or villain for a disease-themed arc

Encounter Hook:
The village hasn't had a death in three weeks — not since the robed figure arrived and set up a makeshift surgery in the old mill. The party are hired to investigate, but when they arrive, the villagers speak of the plague doctor with unsettling reverence. The bodies, they say, are taken away for proper disposal. No one has asked where.
