This is the second piece in our Dead Tree scatter terrain range from Novaminis, and it carries a distinctly unsettling character all of its own. Where the first tree stands with a certain weathered dignity, Dead Tree 02 twists — two gnarled trunks rising from a shared root mass, their bark rippling with deep texture, a hollow cavity worn through one trunk like an eye watching the treeline. The reaching branches curl upward in a way that sits somewhere between natural and deeply wrong, making it equally at home in a blighted heath, a Ravenloft graveyard, or the edge of a fey-corrupted wood.

As scatter terrain, it does exactly what the best pieces should: it tells a story before a single dice is rolled. Pair it with the other trees in the range to build out a full cursed woodland, or let it stand alone as a landmark — the twisted tree the villagers warned the party about.

Encounter Hook:
The ambush point the bandits chose is a narrow trail flanked by dead trees — but as the party moves in, one of the larger trees shifts slightly. The ranger's eyes meet the hollow socket carved into the bark. It blinks. The trees here are not merely dead — they are waiting, and something has been using them to watch the road for weeks.

Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed easily with a small amount of glue. Ready for priming and painting straight away, or use it unpainted for an atmospheric grey-toned look. As with any hand-finished piece, minor marks may occasionally be present; these are straightforward to tidy up.
