From the Tales of Kreyvos collection by Primal Collectibles comes the Doom Herald — a Dark Knight of terrifying presence and extraordinary sculpt detail. This is no ordinary warrior. The Doom Herald is a titan of a figure: bare-armed and barely contained, muscles coiled beneath the weight of a massive crescent-bladed greataxe raised high and ready to cleave through whatever fate has put in his path.
His helmet is a masterpiece of menace — a pointed visor flanked by coiling horn-like rings, part gladiatorial, part infernal, entirely uncompromising. Across his broad chest, a patchwork of leather strapping, chain links, and skull-adorned belt buckles speaks to a warrior who has decorated himself with the trophies of a hundred campaigns. A great burlap sash or tabard hangs beneath the armour, roughspun and functional against the polished brutality of the metalwork above.
The cloak is where this sculpt truly earns its place on a display shelf. Flowing out behind the Doom Herald in a sweeping cascade, it is rendered in extraordinary feathered or scaled texture — layer upon layer of individually detailed elements that billow dramatically, giving the entire piece a sense of unstoppable forward momentum. Viewed from behind, the cloak fills the silhouette entirely, a monument to patient, confident sculpting.
The base is a clean, solid column mount — well-suited to a painter who wants a stable platform for display work. The overall composition is bold, balanced, and deeply characterful. Painted in dark iron, cold silver, and the bleached bone of a skull or two, this would sit as a commanding centrepiece on any hobby shelf.
This miniature works brilliantly for adventurers who:
- Want a show-stopping painting project with exceptional surface detail
- Need a BBEG champion or dark warlord for a mountain or arctic campaign
- Are building a display collection around villains, warlords, and fallen knights
- Run campaigns featuring dark knights, doomed champions, or cursed warrior-lords
- Want a conversation-starting piece for a display shelf or hobby competition entry
Encounter Hook
The party crests the frozen ridge and finds the village already silent — not burned, not ransacked, simply empty. Footprints lead away through the snow, dozens of them, all walking in the same direction. At the treeline, a single figure stands with his back to them, greataxe resting across his shoulders, feathered cloak spreading wide in the wind. He does not turn. He simply says: "You're too late. They chose to follow. Will you?"
