Dark Dwarf Rune Sorcerer (Dorgrid Damane) by DM Stash
Description
In the lightless halls beneath the mountain, where runes are carved in blood and chains bind both body and soul, Dorgrid Darnane has spent centuries perfecting an art that even other dark dwarves whisper about with unease.

Dorgrid is no ordinary sorcerer. His heavy robes hang in layered, woven folds over a frame that radiates coiled menace, and every inch of him speaks to a life spent in the Underdark's deepest corridors. Heavy chains loop from his belt — a skull-adorned clasp at his waist marking him as something more than a simple spellcaster. Spider-motif medallions are worked into his pauldrons, and his right arm is encased in runic bracers that crackle with barely-contained power. One clawed hand is raised mid-incantation, fingers splayed as though drawing a rune in the air; the other grips a weighted chain-flail, ready to punish anyone foolish enough to close the distance. His long braided beard and deep hood frame a face that has seen things the surface world could not comprehend. The crystal-shard base beneath him suggests a lair rich in raw arcane energy — or the shattered remains of something he destroyed to take it.
Whether you're introducing him as a recurring villain in an Underdark campaign, casting him as a morally compromised dwarf sorcerer PC, or placing him as the mastermind behind a subterranean cult, Dorgrid holds the table's attention the moment he hits the board. He's equally at home as a centrepiece on a display shelf, where the textural detail of his chainmail, braided beard, and ornate armour rewards a careful paint job.
Well suited to adventurers who:
- Are running an Underdark arc and need a memorable spellcasting antagonist
- Want a dark dwarf sorcerer or warlock miniature for their own PC
- Are painting a grim, chain-and-skull themed warband or faction
- Collect character-rich display pieces with exceptional sculpt detail
Encounter Hook:
The party descends into the lower sanctum to find the ritual already in progress — Dorgrid Darnane stands at the centre of a circle of shattered crystal, chains levitating around him as glowing runes trace themselves across the cavern walls. He doesn't turn to acknowledge the intruders. He simply says: "You're just in time to witness the binding."
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The decorative crystal-shard base is included and fits the sculpt closely — some elements of the model interact with the base, so they look best displayed together, attached with a small amount of superglue. As with all hand-checked prints, minor marks from support removal may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before priming.
