Curved Palm Tree by Mia Kay M3DM

The party steps off the longboat onto a sun-bleached shore, and there — leaning over the tideline as if listening for something — stands a lone palm tree, its fronds rustling in a breeze that carries the faint smell of salt and danger.

Good scatter terrain doesn't just fill space — it tells adventurers where they are. This curved palm tree, sculpted by Mia Kay M3DM, does exactly that. The gracefully arching trunk sweeps up from a sandy island base where three fallen coconuts rest at its roots, while the full crown of broad, segmented fronds fans out overhead. It's the kind of terrain piece that immediately signals to your players that they're somewhere warm, remote, and probably about to be ambushed.
Whether you're running a tropical hex-crawl, a desert oasis encounter, a pirate island chase, or a Chult-style jungle adventure, this piece anchors your battle map with real environmental character. It's equally at home on a collector's shelf or diorama scene — the sculpt holds up beautifully whether painted in naturalistic greens and browns or displayed in the raw.
Brilliant for adventurers who:
- Run coastal, desert, or jungle-themed encounters and want terrain that sets the scene instantly
- Are building a tropical or island battle map and need evocative scatter pieces
- Paint diorama scenes and want a characterful natural element with strong silhouette detail
- Collect fantasy terrain for display alongside their miniatures
Encounter Hook:
The map shows a small cay — barely a sandbar, really — with a single palm tree marked on it. The merchant's invoice was supposedly buried at its roots. But someone got here first: the coconuts have been shifted, the sand disturbed, and three sets of bootprints lead into the shallows and don't come back.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale and ready for priming and painting, or use straight from the box as-is. The model comes attached to its integrated sandy base as a single piece. Some minor imperfections from the print process are possible; any trace marks are easily tidied up before painting.
