Cursed Lich Magic by Epic Miniatures

This is a lich that has outlasted empires. The sculpt captures it mid-incantation — one skeletal hand clawing the air in a gesture of raw necrotic command, the other clutching an ornate, rune-etched tome held open as if the words themselves are weapons. A broad-bladed sword is strapped across its back, a reminder that this creature was once a warrior-king before it transcended mortality entirely. Tattered robes billow around armoured greaves, the fabric fraying where centuries have eaten at the edges, while an elaborate ceremonial headdress crowns the bare skull — equal parts regal and grotesque.

The scenic base is a heap of skulls — dozens of them, compressed into a plinth of conquered souls the lich rises from as naturally as a monarch from a throne. The detail throughout rewards time at the painting table: the textured weave of the robes, the individual runes pressed into the tome's cover, the engraved pauldron visible at the shoulder, the jewelled amulet hanging at the chest. Whether you paint it in bone-white and verdigris or lean into a more dramatic colour scheme of midnight blacks and arcane glows, this sculpt has the depth to carry either approach.

Suited equally to Dungeon Masters building out an undead-themed arc and to collectors who want a centrepiece worthy of their display shelf.

Adventurers who'll want this one include:

• DMs running undead campaigns, lich lairs, or necromancer-led cults
• Players whose character has encountered — or become — an ancient undead ruler
• Painters drawn to complex layered robes, aged bone, and glowing arcane effects
• Collectors building a gallery of iconic D&D villains

Encounter Hook: The party finally breaches the inner sanctum of the Ossuary of Vol — and finds not a dusty tomb but a lit chamber, the Lich mid-recitation from a tome that shouldn't exist. It doesn't look up. It simply raises one skeletal hand and speaks a single syllable. The skull-piled dais trembles beneath its feet. Initiative.
