The Cursed Clown Doll is one of those encounters that lodges in your players' memory long after the session ends. Clad in a tattered ruffled dress with puffed shoulders and a frilled collar, she strides forward with unnerving purpose — one hand outstretched, clawing at the air, the other dragging a heavy iron chain that pools at her feet. Her expression is hollow and unsettling, twin pigtails framing a face that was crafted to entertain but now exists only to destroy. Small bird-like figures scatter at her base, as though fleeing something they cannot name.
This is the action pose variant of the Cursed Clown Doll range — a dynamic sculpt that captures her mid-advance, chain raised and ready. She works brilliantly as a construct, an animated object, or a cursed undead creature haunting a carnival ruin, a noble's hidden collection, or the dungeon beneath a long-abandoned theatre. For Ravenloft and gothic horror campaigns especially, she is a scene-stealer before a single die is rolled.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Run horror-themed D&D or TTRPG campaigns, particularly Ravenloft or dark carnival settings
- Need an unsettling construct or animated object encounter for mid-tier parties
- Collect display-worthy miniatures with strong character and narrative presence
- Want a painting project with rich texture detail — the ruffled fabric, chain links, and expressive face reward careful brushwork
Encounter Hook:
The party finds a locked chest in the cellar of an abandoned carnival master's home. Inside, wrapped in black velvet, is a porcelain doll in a clown's dress — its eyes tracking whoever holds the lantern. At midnight, the chains holding the chest shut snap taut from the inside, and the lid bursts open. The doll is no longer inside. It is standing behind the rogue.
