Description
They say the Cryptid Executioner was never truly mortal — something older and far less merciful wearing the shape of a man, its great curved horn a mark of office no guild ever sanctioned.
- ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
This bust captures an entity of grim authority: a gaunt, hollow-cheeked face twisted into a skeletal snarl, framed by a wild mane of matted hair and crowned with a single sweeping asymmetric horn — wickedly long and barbed, as though grown rather than worn. The sculptural detail is extraordinary up close: deep-set eyes beneath a heavy brow, a flared nose, and exposed teeth locked in a permanent expression of contempt. A layered, pleated collar or gorget rings the neck, and the whole piece sits on an ornate plinth decorated with interlocking ring-work — purpose-built to display on a shelf or painter's desk. This is the face of something that presides over endings.
This is a collector's display bust, scaled and sculpted for painters who want a serious showcase piece. Every surface rewards careful brush work — the texture of the skin, the striations of the horn, the folds of the collar, and the stonework of the base all offer distinct painting challenges and opportunities. It also serves as powerful visual reference for a Dungeon Master crafting a fearsome villain, ancient judge, or cursed herald.
A fine choice for adventurers who:
- Paint display busts and want a dark fantasy centrepiece with exceptional surface texture
- Are building a shelf collection of character-driven fantasy sculpts
- Need vivid visual inspiration for a campaign villain, corrupt magistrate, or otherworldly arbiter
- Appreciate sculpts that reward patient, layered painting technique
Encounter Hook:
The party has been summoned before the Tribunal of the Hollow Crown — and seated at its head, utterly still, is a figure they have seen before only in woodcut illustrations of ancient atrocities. The Cryptid Executioner does not speak first. It simply watches, horn tilted slightly, waiting to hear what justification they can possibly offer for still being alive.
