Variation 01 of Novaminis' Creepy Human Female series presents a deeply unsettling figure dressed in a long, floor-length robe edged with crude cross-stitch detailing — the kind of stitching that suggests either obsessive ritual or something far more sinister holding the garment together. Her long, lank hair frames a face that carries a blank, distant expression — eyes heavy-lidded, mouth set in that particular half-smile that makes players immediately distrust whatever NPC you assign her to.
Her pose is where the real character lives. One hand rests on her hip with a disquieting casualness, while the other is raised toward the viewer — fingers splayed and slightly crooked, as though gesturing mid-incantation or reaching for something only she can perceive. The body language sits in that uncanny valley between entirely human and deeply, deeply wrong. From behind, the spare detailing of the robe and belt reveal just enough texture to reward a careful paint job.
She could be a village herbalist with a dark secret, a cult leader mid-sermon, a hag in human guise who hasn't quite got the expression right, or a Charmed NPC delivering a message she doesn't fully understand. This sculpt is ambiguous enough to be genuinely versatile, while being specific enough to carry real weight at the table.
Particularly well-suited to adventurers who want to:
- Drop a chilling human NPC into a Ravenloft or gothic horror campaign
- Use her as a cult priestess, ritual caster, or corrupted townsfolk
- Represent a disguised hag, doppelganger, or enchanted villager
- Add her to a collection of unsettling human miniatures for social or horror encounters
- Paint her as a centrepiece for a creepy village scene or cursed coven
Encounter Hook: The party has been sent to question the miller's wife about the recent disappearances. They find her standing in the middle of the kitchen, back to the door, one hand raised toward the wall as though counting something on her fingers. She doesn't turn around when they knock. When she finally speaks, she gives the names of every party member — including the one they've never introduced.
