This is Creepy Human Child 01 from Novaminis — a sculpt that earns every syllable of its name. The figure depicts a young girl in a long, plain dress, her braided hair falling over one shoulder. Her expression carries that particular blankness that belongs to ghosts, thralls, and things that merely wear the shape of children. One arm is extended, a single finger raised as though pointing at something the party cannot yet see. In her other hand she trails a worn, button-eyed ragdoll — the kind that turns up in cursed manors, forgotten nurseries, and places where something terrible happened a very long time ago.
The sculpt is tight and purposeful. There is no excess — no dramatic cloak or elaborate armour — just the quiet wrongness of a child standing somewhere she should not be, calm in a way that no child should be calm. That restraint is exactly what makes her work. At the table, she reads immediately: something is deeply wrong here, and your players will feel it before they can articulate why.
This is variation 01 of the Creepy Human Child series from Novaminis, featuring the pointing pose. Other variants in the series offer different poses and expressions — each one its own flavour of unsettling — so adventurers building out a full horror encounter have options.
She works beautifully as an NPC anchor for gothic mystery sessions: the girl who keeps appearing in the village, the ward of the suspicious noble, the only survivor who won't speak about what she saw. Paint her in pale, desaturated tones with dark shadows under the eyes and she'll haunt your table long after the session ends.
A fine choice for adventurers who:
- Run Ravenloft, Curse of Strahd, or gothic horror campaigns
- Need an NPC that signals dread without a single stat block
- Want a character study piece for display painting
- Are building out cursed village, haunted manor, or dark mystery encounters
- Appreciate sculpts where storytelling lives in posture and stillness
Encounter Hook
The party has been hired to investigate a series of disappearances in the village of Veldmere. On their second night, they find a girl standing alone in the rain outside the inn. She does not react to their questions. She raises one finger and points, slowly, toward the old mill at the edge of town — the one that has been sealed since the miller's family vanished seven years ago. Then she turns and walks into the darkness, and when the ranger tries to follow, there is no trace of her — not even footprints in the mud.
