Description

The candles were still burning when the party found it — skulls arranged just so, runes scratched into a worn tablet, and a smell in the air that no one wanted to name.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

This dark ritual altar is a richly detailed piece of scatter terrain that transforms any dungeon room, crypt, or unholy sanctum into somewhere your players won't forget. Atop an elegantly carved wooden table — its cabriole legs ornate against the rough-hewn floor — rest a cluster of burned-down candles of varying heights, two skulls (one glowing with an eerie green light when painted), a runic tablet etched with arcane script, and a small ritual dish. The whole piece sits over a battered wooden floor tile base, giving it a grounded, scene-ready presence straight out of the box.

Whether it marks the workspace of a necromancer mid-ritual, the hidden shrine of a death cult, or the lair of a lich's most devoted thrall, this altar rewards the DM who plants it and the painter who brings it to life. Equally at home on a battle map or in a display cabinet.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Want to make dungeon rooms feel genuinely unsettling for their players
  • Are building a necromancer's lair, death cult hideout, or Ravenloft-adjacent encounter
  • Love painting atmospheric scatter terrain with candles, skulls, and arcane details
  • Collect detailed fantasy terrain pieces for display or diorama scenes

Encounter Hook:
The party enters the chamber to find the altar mid-ritual — candles lit, a skull still faintly warm to the touch, and a rune tablet bearing the name of one of the characters. Whatever summoning was underway, it hasn't finished yet.

Scaled to 32mm. The piece includes the altar with all dressing (candles, skulls, rune tablet) attached, seated on an integrated floor tile base. Ready for priming and painting straight from the box, or use as-is for an unpainted grey aesthetic. As with all hand-finished prints, minor surface marks may occasionally be present — these are easily tidied up before painting.
