This is no mere beast. The Axolotl creature sculpted by La Louve 3D is a Fey spirit rendered in a pose of preternatural calm — seated cross-legged, muscular torso upright, clawed hands resting loosely at its sides, and a magnificent crown of feathery external gills fanning outward like the petals of some deep-water flower. Its broad, wide-set eyes hold a knowing stillness that suggests it understands far more about your party than it is letting on. Whether you read it as a guardian of forgotten rivers, a trickster bound to an old bargain, or something stranger still, this mini carries genuine presence at the table.
The sculpt is rich with character — smooth, muscled limbs contrast beautifully with the delicate, layered gill fronds, and the long, curling tail sweeps forward beneath the figure to complete the composition. Painted or unpainted, this piece holds its own as a gaming piece or a display centrepiece.
A fine addition to any adventurer's collection who:
- Runs Feywild campaigns and wants NPCs that feel genuinely otherworldly
- Needs a memorable encounter creature that isn't drawn from the standard bestiary
- Paints miniatures and wants a sculpt full of fine texture and surface detail to work with
- Collects fantasy miniatures for display as well as play
Encounter Hook:
The party has been following the river upstream for two days when they find it — an axolotl the size of a halfling, seated on a moss-covered stone in the middle of the current, quite dry, watching them with ancient, unblinking eyes. It speaks first. It already knows their names. It offers them what they are looking for — but first, it has a question.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are separate pieces, easily attached with a small amount of glue — and the sculpt is designed to interact naturally with its base, so we recommend using it. Each piece is printed to a high standard and quality checked before dispatch; minor support marks are occasionally possible and are easily tidied up. Ready for priming and painting straight out of the box.
