This is a creature that commands the table the moment it hits the mat. The Corpse Golem is a Huge-sized miniature — mounted on a 76.5mm base — and every millimetre of it earns that footprint. The sculpt is a seething, roiling mass of fused flesh: hollowed-out cavities pockmark the torso, tiny skulls protrude from swollen shoulders, and multiple splayed limbs reach outward in grotesque angles. One arm rears back overhead, clawed fingers spread wide, mid-swing. The body leans forward with a hunched, lurching momentum, conveying something that does not walk so much as it surges.
The surface texture throughout is extraordinary — layered sinew, puckered skin, gaping holes and knotted bone all compete for attention across the model. There is no clean line anywhere on this creature; it is deliberately, beautifully wrong. For painters, this sculpt rewards washes, stippling and contrast paints in equal measure — the organic cavities beg for deep shadow, and the protruding skulls are natural focal points for a pale highlight pass.
This is the kind of miniature that makes a Dungeon Master smile when they bring it out from behind their screen. It reads immediately as something terrible. Whether you field it as a necromancer's crowning achievement, a wandering abomination from the Shadowfell, or the centrepiece of a Ravenloft horror campaign, the Corpse Golem delivers genuine table presence.
- Adventurers running dark, horror-tinged campaigns where undead are more than just skeletons and zombies
- Dungeon Masters who want a Huge-tier undead encounter that players will genuinely remember
- Painters looking for a deeply textured organic sculpt with rich surface detail and strong focal points
- Collectors building out a Ravenloft or Shadowfell display where scale and menace matter
Encounter Hook: The party tracks a missing village herbalist into the marshes and finds her workroom — intact, candles still burning. Then the wall moves. What they took for a collapsed section of the building rises, turns, and fixes them with hollow sockets that shouldn't be able to see. The necromancer they've been hunting never needed to be here. He left something behind.
