Description

Once a gentle guardian of the deep wood, the Thornmother was unmade by a corruption older than the forest itself — and now she tends her garden with thorns, hunger, and a terrible patience.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Thornmother is a creature of dreadful beauty. Her body rises from a coiled mass of twisted roots and bark, a great wilting bloom crowning her head like a corrupted halo. Where hands once reached to tend saplings, long barbed tendrils now extend — each ending in a snapping, toothed maw reminiscent of a venus fly-trap grown monstrous and feral. Her torso is wrapped in layered leaves gone ragged at the edges, and smaller carnivorous buds cluster at her joints, always opening, always hungry. The base of tangled roots and shattered wood suggests she has not simply walked here — she has erupted from the earth itself, dragging the forest's rot up with her.

On the tabletop she functions beautifully as a BBEG for a Feywild arc, a corrupted dryad boss encounter, or a powerful animated plant creature for a nature-themed campaign. Off the tabletop, the sheer sculptural presence of this piece — with its layered organic textures, reaching tendrils, and deeply unsettling floral silhouette — makes her a compelling centrepiece for any display shelf or painted miniature collection.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a memorable BBEG for a corrupted forest or Feywild campaign arc
  • Want a large, dramatic plant creature or corrupted dryad encounter
  • Are painting enthusiasts looking for a high-detail nature-horror display piece
  • Are building encounters around animated plant creatures, green hag covens, or Wild Magic zones

Encounter Hook:
The druids warned the party that something had claimed the heart of the Ashenwood — something that wore the shape of the old grove-warden but left only stripped bones behind. When the trees begin to lean inward and the flowers turn to face them all at once, the ranger realises with a cold dread that the Thornmother has already chosen her next harvest.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and its detailed scenic base are separate pieces, designed to be joined with superglue — and the base interaction is worth preserving, as the root tendrils tie the two pieces together visually. Ready for priming and painting straight out of the box, or striking on the table as-is.
