The Thornmother is a creature of dreadful beauty. Her body rises from a coiled mass of twisted roots and bark, a great wilting bloom crowning her head like a corrupted halo. Where hands once reached to tend saplings, long barbed tendrils now extend — each ending in a snapping, toothed maw reminiscent of a venus fly-trap grown monstrous and feral. Her torso is wrapped in layered leaves gone ragged at the edges, and smaller carnivorous buds cluster at her joints, always opening, always hungry. The base of tangled roots and shattered wood suggests she has not simply walked here — she has erupted from the earth itself, dragging the forest's rot up with her.

On the tabletop she functions beautifully as a BBEG for a Feywild arc, a corrupted dryad boss encounter, or a powerful animated plant creature for a nature-themed campaign.
