Cook 01 by Novaminis

He's fed armies, survived kitchen fires, and once threw a pot of stew at a goblin raiding party — and won. The cook doesn't need a sword; he has a ladle and an attitude.

This is Cook 01 by Novaminis — a stocky, barrel-chested human cook rendered with a wealth of character detail. He stands with one hand planted firmly on his hip and the other brandishing a large wooden ladle aloft, as if mid-lecture to an apprentice or mid-argument with a particularly ungrateful patron. He wears a long working apron over a sleeveless tunic, stitched and worn in all the right places, with a thick rope belt knotted at the front and a small utility pouch at his side. His hair is tied back beneath a cloth wrap, practical and no-nonsense. The sculpt captures the energy of a man who runs his kitchen like a sergeant runs a barracks — with absolute authority and zero tolerance for wasted food.

The surface detail across the apron's cross-stitching, the braided rope tie, and the worn leather pouch give painters a great deal to work with. Whether you go for grease-stained linen, a bold dyed cloth, or a battered leather look, the sculpt rewards careful brushwork at every stage. As a display piece, the confident stance and expressive raised arm make him a natural focal point on any shelf.

This is variation 01 of the Cook range — if you're browsing other variants, each features a distinct pose or composition, so adventurers building out a kitchen staff or tavern scene will find each one brings something different to the table.

Well suited to adventurers who:

• Run tavern-based campaigns or need a memorable innkeeper's cook for social encounters
• Want a distinctive NPC who can double as a quest-giver, local informant, or unexpected ally
• Are painting urban or settlement scenes and need lived-in, working-class townsfolk
• Enjoy painting character-rich figures with expressive poses and real personality
• Are building a display vignette of a fantasy kitchen or inn common room

Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the Gilded Ladle inn hungry and road-worn, only to find the cook in a furious standoff with the innkeeper's steward, waving his ladle at a ledger and insisting half the food stores have gone missing — and that whatever took them is still in the cellar. He's the only one who knows what was down there. And he's not going back without help.
