Bartholomew is a man who has looked too deeply into the weave and come back changed — but entirely in control. His heavy travelling coat billows behind him, layered with runic embroidery that speaks to a lifetime of arcane study, while his expression carries the cool focus of a spellcaster who has already calculated exactly how this encounter ends. What he holds is not a weapon in any conventional sense: a jagged, crystalline arcane focus crackles with conjured energy, its edges fracturing into raw magical light as though something is trying to claw through from the other side.
The sculpt captures a sorcerer mid-stride — weight forward, cloak caught in motion, the arcane staff angled low and ready. This is not a scholar at a lectern. This is a practitioner who walks into danger because danger is where the interesting things live. The reverse of the sculpt is equally considered: the textured weave of his cloak falls in full, sweeping folds, and his curling hair is rendered with real character — the kind of detail that rewards a careful wash and highlight.
Mounted on a scenic rubble base with cracked stonework underfoot, Bartholomew sits comfortably in any setting from the streets of a crumbling city to the depths of a Drow-haunted tunnel — fitting, given his origins in DM Stash's Schism of the Drow release arc.
- Conjuration Sorcerers, Wizards, or Arcane NPCs in your campaign
- Adventurers who want a male spellcaster with real presence on the table
- Painters looking for a sculpt that rewards both speed-painting and fine detail work
- Dungeon Masters running Underdark arcs, political intrigues, or high-magic settings
Encounter Hook
The party enters the ruined observatory expecting to retrieve a stolen scroll — instead they find Bartholomew already there, kneeling over the body of the thief. He doesn't look up when they enter. He just says, quietly: "Whatever you were sent to recover, I'm afraid it's already gone. The question is whether you'd like to discuss what came through in its place — or whether you'd prefer I handle that alone." The crackling staff in his hand makes clear this is not an idle offer.
