Part of DM Stash's A Grim Siege grimdark 5e setting, Kurt Williams is sculpted with the bearing of a man who has led armies through ruin and emerged harder for it. His articulated plate armour, layered with quilted padding and gauntleted bracers, speaks to decades of battlefield experience. His long campaign cloak — trimmed with ornate border detail — sweeps dramatically behind him as he levels a long, twisted blade in a two-handed grip that suggests not a man preparing to fight, but a man already in the middle of winning. The sculpt comes in two distinct poses: one with the sword angled high in an aggressive forward guard, the other with the blade raised overhead in a commanding strike. Both stands on a detailed rubble-strewn base, capturing the chaos of a siege-front the moment before the wall falls.
On the tabletop, Williams makes an outstanding named NPC — the seasoned general who tasks the party with a desperate mission behind enemy lines, the morally grey commander whose loyalty to the city outweighs his loyalty to its people, or a fallen hero turned antagonist whose conviction makes him genuinely dangerous. For players, he translates readily to a battle-hardened Fighter, an Eldritch Knight, or even a Paladin who has seen too much to hold on to faith. His grimdark aesthetic sits naturally in urban siege campaigns, military intrigue arcs, and any setting where war is treated as something that costs rather than glorifies.
Well-suited to adventurers who:
- Need a commanding, named military NPC for a siege or war campaign
- Are running a grimdark or morally complex 5e setting
- Want a Fighter or Eldritch Knight player character with serious gravitas
- Collect display-worthy character minis from independent sculptors
Encounter Hook:
The party is summoned to the Field Marshal's war tent two hours before the assault on the eastern gate. Williams doesn't sit — he stands over the map, sword still at his hip, and tells them plainly: the gate will fall whether they help or not. What he needs is someone to silence the artillery nest on the third tower before his men breach the wall. He's already sent two squads. He doesn't mention what happened to them.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The miniature and decorative base are separate pieces, designed to be attached with a small amount of superglue — the sculpt is designed to interact with the base, so we strongly recommend displaying them together. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. Minor cleanup of support marks may occasionally be needed, though we quality-check every piece before it leaves us.
