Description

The horses stopped first — then the birds — and by the time the silence reached the party, the cockatrice had already chosen its target.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Few creatures inspire the same cold dread as the cockatrice. Classified as a Beast in the Monster Manual yet carrying the cursed power to turn flesh to stone with a single bite, this chaotic predator occupies a unique space at the encounter table — dangerous enough to threaten unprepared adventurers, and memorable enough to become a recurring threat in a DM's arsenal. Mia Kay's sculpt captures the creature mid-strike: wings flared wide, serpentine tail coiled behind, and that unmistakable eagle-cockerel head lunging forward with predatory intent.

The detail work here rewards close attention — layered feathers across the wings and body, scaled legs braced against a textured rocky base, and a barbed tail that conveys real menace. Whether you're placing this on your encounter mat or on a display shelf, the dynamic pose reads clearly from across the table.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Run wilderness, ruins, or mountain pass encounters needing a memorable non-undead petrification threat
  • Want a creature mini with genuine visual presence and a low-profile base for easy use on battle maps
  • Collect fantasy creature sculpts with strong silhouettes for display or diorama use
  • Are building a monster collection that covers the full breadth of D&D 5e Beast and Monstrosity threats

Encounter Hook:
The scholars called it a nest — but when the party reaches the clifftop eyrie, they find three clutches of stone-grey eggs and the petrified remains of the last expedition's ranger still mid-draw, crossbow raised at nothing. The adult returns at dusk.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. The model with a detailed base is supplied as a single piece. The model with a plain base is supplied with the base detached for easy gluing. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks or nubs can occur and are easily tidied up with light sanding. Each piece is fully cured and ready for priming and painting — or display as-is straight out of the box.
