Description

Something in the dunes shifted — and then the earth erupted upward, a coiling mass of chitin and muscle, its serrated jaws splitting wide in a shriek that silenced every creature within a mile.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Cobra Lizard is what happens when nature decides subtlety is overrated. This sculpt by Epic Miniatures captures the creature mid-scream — torso rearing upright, long insectile antennae swept back, fanged maw stretched open in a full territorial challenge. The segmented, chitinous abdomen curves behind it like a scorpion's tail, grounding the pose with an unsettling coiled-spring tension, as though it could lunge in any direction without warning.

Mounted on a large 51mm base with a skull fragment crushed underfoot, this is a creature that has encountered adventurers before — and won. The sculpt reads equally as a monstrous predator from a desert wilderness, an Underdark ambush predator, or a creature summoned by some ill-considered Conjure Animals spell. The layered texture across the body — scaled flanks, smooth musculature at the chest, ribbed segmenting at the abdomen — gives a painter enormous range: chitin blacks and browns for a naturalistic take, or vivid warning colours for something that wants you to know how dangerous it is.

The bundle includes both a decorative sculpted base version and a plain base version, giving you the choice of a display-ready piece or a gaming-table-friendly alternative.

This is the kind of miniature that earns its own monster stat block at the table — or a dedicated spot on the painting shelf.

Particularly well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Run desert, arid, or wilderness encounter tables and want memorable large creatures
  • Need a large-base monster to anchor a difficult combat encounter
  • Love painting textured, multi-surface sculpts with chitin, scales, and musculature
  • Want a display piece that commands attention from across the shelf

Encounter Hook

The caravan has been missing for three days. The trail leads into a dry canyon where the wagon wheels simply stop — and in the dust around the wreckage, enormous three-toed claw prints circle the site again and again. Something was waiting here. Something is still waiting.
