Description

Somewhere in the artificer's workshop, a single bauble hangs from the rafters — its gears turning slowly, its clock face ticking down to something nobody has yet dared explain.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

The Clockwork Xmas Bauble from Great Grimoire is a feast of mechanical detail: a hollow orb wrapped in interlocking cogs, exposed gear trains, and a Roman numeral clock face with ornate hands frozen at an ominous hour. The latticed lower half reveals the workings beneath, and the whole piece is topped with a classic hanging loop — equal parts festive decoration and arcane device. Whether it belongs in a gnomish inventor's lab, a warforged's collection of curiosities, or strung above a Midwinter market stall in a city that takes its timekeeping very seriously, this piece brings narrative texture to any scene.

The bauble prints in two pieces — a domed upper half and an open lower bowl — which fit together to form the complete ornament, or can be displayed separately for variety on your battle map. It works equally well as gaming terrain and as a display piece on your hobby shelf.

Brought to your table for adventurers who:

  • Want scatter terrain that sparks a conversation at the table
  • Are running steampunk, artificer, or clockpunk-flavoured campaigns
  • Love festive encounters with a darker or more unusual edge
  • Collect display pieces that reward close inspection
  • Need a distinctive prop for a puzzle, a MacGuffin, or an arcane encounter

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to retrieve a stolen timepiece from a frost giant's Midwinter feast — but when they spot it hanging amongst a dozen identical clockwork baubles above the feasting hall, each one ticking at a slightly different rate, they realise they have no idea which one is the original. And the hands on three of them are moving backwards.

Scaled to 35mm. If you'd prefer 32mm scaling, send us a message and we'll adjust it for you. The model prints in two parts — the upper dome and lower bowl — which can be displayed together or separately. Ready to prime and paint straight out of the box, or display as-is in the raw grey finish.
