Clio Bill is no meek villager cowering at the edge of the map. Caught mid-strike with a short blade thrust forward and her skirts swirling around her, she carries the unmistakable energy of someone who has been pushed too far and decided to push back. Her layered peasant dress, coarse-woven overskirt, and wrapped headscarf speak to a hard life on the margins — but her expression and stance speak to someone who has long since stopped accepting that lot. Belt pouches, a studded wrap, and a braid over one shoulder complete a silhouette that is wholly convincing as either a desperate commoner or a rogue whose cover story is very well dressed.

Whether she represents a tavern contact who turns out to be far more dangerous than advertised, a guild informant with her own agenda, or a player character who grew up hard and fights harder, Clio brings remarkable sculptural depth to the table. The textured woven fabric on her skirt, the motion in her cloak, and the sharp intensity of her face reward a careful paintjob — and look equally compelling displayed unpainted.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a memorable NPC with grit — a contact, a rival, or a witness who won't be intimidated
  • Are building a low-fantasy or grounded medieval campaign setting
  • Want to play a Rogue, Fighter, or Bard with humble origins and a short temper
  • Enjoy painting dynamic civilian figures with expressive detail
  • Are adding to a display collection of character miniatures

Encounter Hook:
The party has been sent to retrieve a stolen ledger from a market district. Their contact — described simply as "a woman in a headscarf near the grain stalls" — turns out to be Clio Bill, who already has the ledger, has already read it, and is now holding it as leverage against the same guild that hired the party. She doesn't want gold. She wants the party to help her burn the guild's warehouse at midnight. Whether they negotiate, comply, or try to take the ledger by force, Clio Bill will make them earn every inch of this encounter.
