Cleric / Paladin (Roland the Dutiful - Dukes Bodyguard) by DM Stash
Description
He has stood between the Duke and death a dozen times — and each time, his spiked halo-helm has been the last thing an assassin ever saw.

- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
Roland the Dutiful is no ordinary household guard. His full plate is etched with devotion, his sweeping cape billowing as he raises one gauntleted hand to halt a threat before it reaches his liege. The iconic spiked sun-halo rising from his helm marks him as something more than a soldier — a sworn protector whose faith and fealty are one and the same. Spear levelled, blade at his heel, he presents two sculpts to choose from: one posed alert and commanding with cape mid-sweep, the other leaning into forward momentum, ready to intercept whatever darkness dares approach.
From the A Grim Fate 5e Eldritch Adventure setting by DM Stash, Roland works equally well as a Paladin or Cleric NPC, a noble-aligned Fighter, or a player character whose devotion to a lord — or a cause — defines every decision they make. Whether standing sentinel on your battlemap or displayed as a showcase piece, the sculpt's layered armour detail, textured cape, and richly decorated base reward careful painting at every level of skill.
Fits adventurers who:
- Need a loyal, armoured NPC bodyguard to protect a noble, merchant prince, or faction leader
- Are running a political intrigue campaign where the Duke's guard is more than furniture
- Want a Paladin or Cleric player character with a distinctly martial, oath-bound silhouette
- Collect sculpts with exceptional cape and armour surface detail for display
Encounter Hook:
The party has been granted an audience with the Duke — but Roland steps forward before they reach the door, spear angled across the threshold, one hand raised. His voice is quiet, measured: "The Duke will see you. I, however, have not yet decided whether I trust you." A DC 15 Persuasion check — or a very convincing story — stands between the players and the information they came for.
