Description

Somewhere in the back streets of a planar city, a small, round, penguin-like figure in a battered helmet raises his club and demands, with absolute seriousness, that you state your business.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Dohwar are Wildspace's most aggressively entrepreneurial penguin-people — merchants, hagglers, and opportunists who have somehow waddled their way into every corner of the planes. Pibblik "Pip" Quillein, however, took a different path. Pip serves the city watch, and he takes that responsibility extremely seriously, regardless of what anyone else thinks about a three-foot penguin in a cabasset helmet telling them to move along.

The sculpt captures Pip mid-authority — club raised, shield strapped to his side, leather belt cinched around a very round torso, and a guild badge gleaming at his chest. His yellow scarf is knotted with civic pride. His expression is unreadable, as Dohwar expressions tend to be, but there is no ambiguity about his intentions. You are on his beat, and you will comply.

This is a miniature that brings real character to Spelljammer and planar city campaigns. Whether Pip is a recurring city official who keeps hassling the party, a loveable ally, or a surprisingly competent NPC who ends up saving the day — he earns his place at the table every time he waddles onto it. Equally compelling as a display piece for fans of the stranger corners of D&D lore.

Particularly well suited to adventurers who:

  • Run Spelljammer, Planescape, or planar city campaigns
  • Need a distinctive, characterful city watch NPC
  • Want a sculpt that will spark immediate table conversation
  • Enjoy painting quirky, personality-driven miniatures for display

Encounter Hook: The party is cutting through the Dock Ward when a Dohwar in a city watch tabard steps out from an alleyway and plants himself directly in their path. He produces a crumpled scroll from his belt and begins reading aloud a list of ordinances the party has allegedly violated — disturbing the peace, unlicensed arcane discharge, and operating a familiar within the city limits without the proper guild exemption. He will not be moved. He cannot be intimidated. He does, however, accept bribes in the form of rare coins from other planes.
