There's something equal parts delightful and unsettling about a trained seal wearing a ruffled performer's collar, perched attentively on a star-studded plinth with a great lumpy ball balanced on the tip of its snout. This miniature leans into that carnival uncanny — charming on the surface, with just enough whimsy to make your players wonder what exactly is behind those eyes.

The sculpt captures the seal mid-performance: back arched, snout raised, collar fanned wide around its neck, the textured ball aloft as though held there by some faint enchantment. The decorative pedestal base — adorned with stars and geometric panels — anchors the piece as a genuine set-dressing prop, not merely a creature token. Whether you use it as a familiar, a carnival attraction, or a very suspicious NPC that keeps showing up wherever the party travels, this mini earns its place at the table.

It works beautifully as a painterly project too. The smooth curves of the seal's body contrast wonderfully against the ruffled texture of the collar and the pitted, pockmarked surface of the ball — giving painters plenty of interesting surfaces to play with across a relatively compact sculpt.

Well suited for adventurers who:

• Are running a carnival, circus, or travelling fairground arc
• Need a quirky familiar or magical beast companion for a Fey-touched character
• Want characterful scatter pieces that double as encounter props
• Enjoy painting miniatures with contrasting textures and playful subject matter
• Are building out a Feywild or whimsical urban setting with distinctive flair

Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the Reverie Carnival to find the ringmaster frantic — his prized performing seal has escaped its enclosure and taken the Orb of Reflecting Truths with it. The seal, now half-awakened by prolonged contact with the artefact, has been wandering the camp telling performers uncomfortable truths in a language only it seems to understand. Getting the orb back without upsetting a seal that knows everyone's secrets is going to require a very particular kind of diplomacy.
