Circus Bear by Ella's Arcanum Minis

Somewhere between the acrobats and the fire-breather, the ringmaster's prized act shuffles into the ring — a great shaggy bear in a ruffled collar and pointed party hat, pedalling a miniature bicycle with the grim determination of a creature that has seen things no bear should ever see.

This is not your average bear encounter. The Circus Bear sculpt from Ella's Arcanum Minis captures something deeply unsettling dressed up in something deeply silly — a hulking brown bear decked out in a frilled neck ruff and a conical party hat, claws gripping the handlebars of a comically undersized bicycle. The fur texturing is rich and layered, the expression is somewhere between resigned and dangerous, and the whole composition sits on a detailed scenic base that completes the performance-ring aesthetic. It's the kind of miniature that stops conversations cold the moment it hits the table.

Whether your campaign leans into dark circus horror, fey carnival weirdness, or simply the chaos of a travelling menagerie gone badly wrong, this sculpt carries its absurdity with genuine craft. The multipart assembly means the detail comes through cleanly, and painters will find plenty to work with — the matted fur, the decorative harness, the delicate spoke wheels on that tiny bicycle all reward careful brushwork.

Equally compelling as a display piece, the Circus Bear rewards the kind of creative painting that leans into the theatrical — faded paint on the bicycle, a dingy grey ruff that was once white, claws worn with age. The storytelling potential is entirely in how you choose to paint it.

Particularly well-suited to adventurers who:

• Run circus, carnival, or travelling show encounters with a dark edge
• Want a memorable set piece creature for a Feywild or Ravenloft campaign
• Love miniatures that provoke a double-take at the gaming table
• Are building a display collection with genuine character and humour
• Need an unusual animal-type creature that doubles as a conversation piece

Encounter Hook: The party follows rumours of a missing child to a travelling circus camped on the edge of a cursed forest. In the centre ring, under a single guttering lantern, a bear in a tattered party hat pedals slow circles on a tiny bicycle — and it is watching the tent entrance with far too much intelligence in its eyes. The ringmaster hasn't been seen since Tuesday.
