Chuul by Monster Atlas
Description
From the lightless waterways of the Underdark it drags itself into the torchlight — claws spread wide, tentacles tasting the air, hunger older than memory.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The Chuul is one of D&D's most unsettling aberrations: part crustacean, part nightmare, shaped by aeons of Far Realm corruption into something that hunts with terrible patience. This Monster Atlas sculpt captures the creature mid-stalk — armoured carapace bristling with chitinous spines, a pair of massive serrated claws extended and ready to grapple, and a writhing mass of paralysing tentacles clustered at the face. The hunched, predatory stance reads instantly as something that has cornered its prey and knows it. Three distinct poses are available across this range, each showing a different aspect of the Chuul's threat display — from low, lunging charge to wide-claw confrontation.
Whether you're statting it up as a CR 4 guardian of a flooded dungeon or using it as the horrific centrepiece of a yuan-ti lair, this miniature brings genuine table presence. It's equally at home on a display shelf alongside your painted aberration collection.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a menacing aquatic or Underdark ambush predator for their D&D 5e sessions
- Are building an aberration or Far Realm-themed encounter or collection
- Want a character-rich sculpt that rewards detailed painting — the carapace texture and tentacle detail are particularly striking with a wash and drybrush
- Collect fantasy monster miniatures for display as well as gameplay
Encounter Hook:
The party has been following the smugglers' tunnel for an hour when the scout notices the floor is wet — not damp, but flooded ankle-deep, and the water is warm. Then the torchlight catches the reflection of two enormous claws rising from the black water ahead, and a low chittering begins to echo from behind them too.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The miniature and decorative base are separate pieces — attach with super glue. The base is designed to complement the pose, and the model interacts with it in a way that looks best when assembled together. Printed to a high level of detail; support marks are removed as standard, though minor imperfections inherent to the printing process can occasionally occur and are easily tidied up before painting.
