Description

Something vast and wrong hauls itself from the black water — too many limbs, too many claws, and a face that belongs to no creature the party has ever faced before.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Chuul is one of D&D's most visually distinctive aberrations: part crustacean, part eldritch horror, and entirely terrifying. This sculpt from Yasashii Kyojin Studios captures that grotesque fusion with extraordinary detail — a broad, segmented carapace, four articulated legs ending in hooked talons, and two enormous serrated claws spread wide in a threat display. Most unsettling of all is the face: a writhing mass of tentacles hanging beneath a domed, ridge-spiked skull, its paralytic feelers unmistakably rendered. The pose is front-on and aggressive, as if the creature has just spotted something worth seizing.

From the rear, the sculpt reveals just as much character — a spiked tail, layered chitin plating across the back, and the raw musculature of something that doesn't need to hunt because it simply waits. Whether you're running an Underdark encounter, a flooded dungeon chamber, or a coastal ambush, this miniature commands the table. It's equally at home in a display cabinet, where the interlocking textures of shell, flesh, and tentacle reward a close look and a careful brushwork session.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Run Underdark, coastal, or aquatic D&D encounters
  • Need a large, presence-commanding aberration as a boss or elite enemy
  • Enjoy painting highly textured creature miniatures with layered surfaces
  • Collect iconic D&D monsters for display or themed dioramas

Encounter Hook:
The fishermen of Saltharrow have been disappearing one by one — always near the old sluice gate, always at low tide. When the party investigates, they find a chamber below the docks where the Chuul has been storing its paralysed victims, still alive, arranged with an almost methodical care.

Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base is supplied unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. This is Pose 01 of our Chuul range from Yasashii Kyojin Studios.
