Description

Something crawled out of the space between dimensions — and it wore a human face when it arrived.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Chu-U is not quite what it appears. The green-tinged skin, the half-formed scowl, the tendrils of spectral energy coiling around a frame that almost passes for humanoid — almost. Whatever this creature once was, something has taken root inside it, or perhaps something has always been there, only now it has stopped pretending otherwise. The pallid, furrowed face wears an expression caught between contempt and something older and stranger than contempt. The glowing tendrils that spiral around its torso suggest raw psychic or eldritch energy made physical — not a weapon so much as an extension of will.

This sculpt rewards a painter's attention. The textural contrast between the smooth, waxy green skin and the flowing, luminescent tendrils offers a brilliant canvas for wet blending and Object Source Lighting work. A muted, sickly base tone on the flesh paired with vivid blue-green OSL on the energy strands would make this miniature genuinely arresting on the shelf or the table. Equally, a more desaturated, sinister palette suits it perfectly if you want something that reads as quietly threatening rather than overtly supernatural.

Whether you place Chu-U as a corrupted sage whose body has been colonised by something from the Far Realm, a manipulator NPC with hidden aberrant powers, or a full-blown eldritch monster sprung on unsuspecting adventurers, this sculpt delivers the ambiguity and the menace in equal measure.

Encounter Hook

The village elder has summoned the party to investigate a series of disappearances. When they finally locate the elder himself, locked in his study, he greets them warmly — but something in his half-closed eyes is wrong, and the faint luminescent coils threading around his wrists vanish just a little too slowly when he moves to shake their hands.
