The adventurers had been trudging through the frost-bitten dungeon for hours when they spotted it — a cheerfully decorated tree, star atop its boughs, waiting patiently in the corner of the chamber.

This is the Christmas Tree Mimic, and it is wearing seasonal goodwill like a mask. What appears at first glance to be a festive decoration — complete with baubles, draped tinsel, and a cheerful star topper — conceals a gaping maw of serrated teeth, a lashing tentacle, and the kind of bulging, furious eyes that suggest it has been waiting a very long time for someone to walk past. The sculpt captures that glorious moment just before the reveal: the tree is mid-lunge, jaw stretched wide, one thick tentacle curling outward as if to drag an unfortunate cleric to their fate.

Details

This listing includes two distinct miniatures: the Monster variant, sculpted by M3DM, is a fully animated horror mid-attack with its creature features fully exposed — jagged teeth, mottled hide, and grasping limb all visible beneath the festive camouflage. The Terrain variant, sculpted by Mia Kay, is the tree in its patient, deceptive state — heavily laden with round baubles and drooping fabric garland, convincingly innocent, and all the more dangerous for it. Together, they give you the before and the terrifying after.

Both pieces are sculpted with exceptional detail — the bark-like textured trunk, the layered pine boughs, and the individual bauble ornaments all hold beautifully at 32mm scale, making these equally at home on a gaming table or a display shelf.

Encounter Hook:

When the adventurers arrive, they find the stalls still decorated, the candles still lit — and one very large, very still tree standing at the centre of the square that none of the surviving villagers remember planting.

Both miniatures are scaled to 32mm. Each model is attached to its own base and arrives ready for priming and painting. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor marks or support remnants may occasionally be present — these are easily tidied up before painting.
