Description

The rhythmic thud of an axe into wood echoes from the tree line — someone was here recently, and the logs are still fresh-cut.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

This is the kind of scatter terrain that makes a battle map feel genuinely inhabited. The chopping block is a gnarled, bark-textured tree stump with a well-worn axe buried deep into its grain — the tool of someone interrupted mid-task, or perhaps never coming back. Beside it, a neatly stacked woodpile of logs with beautifully detailed end-grain rings and long grain striations tells the story of a homestead, a logging camp, or a settlement on the edge of something dangerous. Every surface is sculpted with the kind of tactile detail that rewards close painting and holds washes beautifully.

Whether you're dressing a rural village encounter, a ranger's woodland campsite, or the outskirts of a keep under siege, this piece adds grounded, believable life to your table. It works equally well as a display piece or diorama prop, and pairs naturally with other rustic scatter elements to build out a fully realised environment.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Want to give village, forest, or wilderness encounters a lived-in, specific feel
  • Are building modular battle maps with immersive scatter terrain
  • Are painting dioramas or display scenes set in rural or frontier settings
  • Collect characterful environmental props for TTRPG campaigns and tabletop gaming

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the woodcutter's cabin on the edge of the Ashwood to find the axe still lodged in the block, a half-finished stack of logs, and no sign of the woodcutter — only a trail of flattened grass leading into the trees. Something came out of the forest last night, and whatever it was, it left in a hurry.
