The Choir of the Damned are amongst the most unsettling creatures Great Grimoire have ever committed to sculpt. These are not warriors in the conventional sense — they are instruments of torment made flesh. Each figure is a contorted, emaciated fiend wrapped in fraying rope and ritual cord, its head replaced by a great iron bell whose open mouth bristles with jagged teeth and writhing innards. Smaller bells hang from their bindings like cursed trinkets, and their clawed feet suggest something that moves in ways that shouldn't be anatomically possible. The detail across both sculpts is extraordinary — engraved medallions, layered rope-work, and the grotesque interior of each bell rendered with a specificity that rewards close painting.
This listing features two distinct poses: one crouching and coiled as though mid-lunge, the other rearing back with its bell-head tilted as if in the act of tolling. Together they make a formidable encounter pair, but each holds its own as a solo horror on the tabletop or display shelf. Both are scaled to 35mm, lending them an imposing presence alongside standard 32mm warbands. Whether you're statting them as Fiends, Aberrations, or something entirely homebrew, the Choir of the Damned will do the atmospheric heavy lifting the moment they hit the table.
Brought out for adventurers who:
- Run dark, folk-horror or cult-themed D&D campaigns
- Want genuinely distinctive fiend or aberration miniatures for boss encounters
- Are building a cursed cathedral, a ruined belfry, or an infernal ritual set-piece
- Collect and paint high-detail fantasy horror miniatures for display
Encounter Hook:
The party descends into the flooded undercroft of the old Cathedral of the Hollow God. The bells were removed centuries ago — melted down, the records say. But as the torchlight reaches the far wall, two shapes rise from the black water, their iron heads tilting in perfect unison, and the air fills with a frequency that makes teeth ache and memories blur.
Both sculpts are printed at 35mm scale — if you'd prefer 32mm scaling, drop us a message and we'll sort it for you. A decorative base option is available; if selected, please include a note specifying which of the three base styles you'd like. Bases are supplied separately and attach easily with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch, though minor marks from the printing process may occasionally be present and are straightforward to clean up. All pieces are fully cured and ready for priming and painting.
