The Cheshire Beast Unchained is what happens when a dark Feywild nightmare slips its leash. Where the folktale offers a grinning cat perched in a tree, this creature offers something far more unsettling — a low-slung, muscular predator coiled in a hunting crouch, its spine bristling with bone-like ridges, its pelt ragged and layered like torn bark. A broken chain still hangs from its neck, a padlock dangling as a grim reminder that something once thought it could be contained.

The sculpt captures the beast mid-stalk: weight forward, broad claws splayed against cracked stone, the long serpentine tail curving up behind it like a question mark. Its face is a mask of feral menace — milky, blind-looking eyes set beneath swept-back ears, a jaw stretched wide to reveal rows of needle-sharp teeth. Every surface is alive with texture: layered scales across the haunches, fur that flows and matts in equal measure, exposed musculature along the ribcage that hints at something not quite natural beneath the skin.

The sculpted base adds welcome narrative weight — cracked flagstones push up through the earth, and a scatter of small toadstools cluster around the beast's feet, placing it firmly in that liminal space between the mundane world and something far stranger. It is a miniature that works as a centrepiece encounter piece on the table and holds its own as a display painting project on the shelf.
