Young dragons are arguably the most satisfying category of dragon encounter in tabletop RPGs — powerful enough to be a genuine threat, mobile enough to keep the whole party on their toes, and dramatic enough to make the session memorable. The Chaos Red Dragon Young from Epic Miniatures leans fully into that dramatic potential. This is a creature mid-descent, wings thrown wide, neck craned forward and claws splayed as it swoops toward its prey. The sculpt captures kinetic energy in the way only the best dragon miniatures manage — it looks like it arrived at speed and has no intention of stopping.

The scale work across the body is dense and precise, with overlapping plates on the torso giving way to finer, tighter texture along the neck and tail. The wings are broad and membrane-textured, with sharp spines running the trailing edge. The underbelly shows the characteristic ridged armour plating of a red dragon, and the jaw is open — this creature is already mid-roar, or mid-breath. The model fits a large 51mm base, which gives the wingspan real visual authority on the table.
