Description

He emerged from the deep places of the world not as a refugee, but as a conqueror — dual blades gleaming with the cold patience of someone who learned long ago that the surface world fears what it cannot name.

This Cave Elf Barbarian is a sculpt that carries real character without demanding a word of explanation. He stands in a loose, self-assured stance — his crescent-bladed axe resting across one shoulder, a broad curved short-sword hanging low in his off hand. The pose reads calm, confident, and entirely capable of violence. He's not posturing. He's done this before.

His armour is a fascinating mix of styles — a layered lamellar collar sits above an exposed torso wrapped in bracers and forearm guards, with a heavily textured chainmail skirt falling to his shins and leg wrappings bound tight over bare feet. The aesthetic sits somewhere between ancient Egyptian warrior and deep-earth predator, which makes him enormously versatile. He could be a Drow exile, a tribal champion from a buried civilisation, a fighter-turned-barbarian who traded plate for speed, or a wandering mercenary who carries no banner but plenty of reputation.

His face bears the angular, pointed-eared features of elven heritage, with cropped sides and a long braided plait falling behind one shoulder. The overall read is lean, experienced, and deliberately unhurried — a fighter who's long past the need to look frightening, because everyone already knows.

The sculpt is by Epic Miniatures, and the detail carries through beautifully at 32mm scale — from the chainmail texture on the skirt to the wrapped grip of the axe haft and the feathered serration along the blade's spine.

Particularly well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Want a dual-weapon melee character with a non-European fantasy aesthetic
  • Are playing or running desert, underdark, or ancient-civilisation campaigns
  • Need a compelling Barbarian, Fighter, or Ranger player character miniature
  • Collect display miniatures with strong, readable silhouettes
  • Are looking for a morally ambiguous NPC — champion, exile, or hired blade

Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to retrieve a relic from a sealed vault beneath the desert ruins of Keth-Amara. When they finally breach the inner chamber, they find it already occupied — a lone elf standing with his back to them, studying the relic with quiet familiarity. He doesn't draw his weapons. He doesn't need to. He simply says, "I was wondering when they'd send someone."

Details

Scale: 32mm (medium base, 25.5mm). Supplied as a single unpainted miniature on a plain round base. The level of detail across the armour plating, textile layers, and weapon work rewards careful painting and responds well to washes and drybrushing.
