This large-size Cave Centipede sculpt is a genuinely imposing table presence. The model depicts a massive, chitinous centipede rearing up from a detailed scenic base littered with skulls, broken terrain, twisted fungi-like growths, and the remnants of previous meals — a grim testament to just how long this creature has ruled its burrow. The sinuous, segmented body arcs dramatically upward, lined with rows of hooked legs and ridged armour plating, before terminating in a blunt, fang-studded head that looks capable of shearing through bone without effort.

The sculpt captures an extraordinary level of surface texture: individual scales and scutes are visible across the entire body length, the leg spines are sharply defined, and the base integrates organic tunnel-entrance shapes that suggest the centipede has erupted from beneath the earth mid-hunt. A scale reference in the product image confirms this is a large creature — it towers over a standard 20mm die, making it a genuine centrepiece on the gaming table. This is the kind of miniature that makes players visibly uncomfortable the moment it hits the mat, which is precisely the point.

Whether you're running a desert tomb raid, an Underdark crawl, or a cave-delve gone catastrophically wrong, this miniature brings the encounter to vivid, unsettling life. It paints up beautifully in sandy ochres and burnt umbers for a desert-dwelling variant, or deep browns and purples for a cave-dwelling nightmare — or hand it to your most ambitious painter and watch them go to town on every individual segment.

A fine choice for adventurers who:

  • Want a large creature that commands instant attention on the table
  • Are running desert, dungeon, cave, or Underdark campaigns
  • Need a visually dramatic random encounter or wandering monster
  • Love detailed scenic bases that tell a story before the dice are even rolled
  • Collect large-scale creature miniatures for display as well as play

Encounter Hook: The party has been tracking a merchant caravan that vanished three days out from the desert city of Kethras. They find the wreckage at dusk — wagons splintered, goods scattered, not a body in sight. Then the ground vibrates beneath their boots, and the centipede erupts from the sand directly beneath the heaviest-armoured character, mandibles already snapping.
