Description

The music stopped decades ago, but the painted horse still rises and falls on its gilded pole, waiting for a rider who never returned.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

There is something deeply unsettling about the carousel horse — too deliberate in its craftsmanship, too precise in its motion. Whether it serves as an animated construct in a fey pleasure garden gone wrong, a cursed artefact at the heart of a Ravenloft carnival, or simply an eerie prop decorating a hedge wizard's eccentric estate, this miniature brings an atmosphere that no ordinary horse model can match. The spiralled pole anchors it to a detailed, cobblestone-patterned round base, whilst the horse itself rears mid-prance, mane swept back, tack and saddle picked out with crisp panelled detail.

The sculpt is beautifully judged — equal parts whimsy and dread. Painted in warm ivory or pearlescent fairground colours, this piece would draw the eye on any display shelf. Left in natural grey, it still reads clearly across a battlemap, its silhouette unmistakable even at distance.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Run carnival, circus, or Feywild-adjacent encounters
  • Need a construct or animated object for D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
  • Are building a Ravenloft or Gothic horror campaign setting
  • Want a display centrepiece that doubles as a conversation piece
  • Love unusual, characterful painting projects

Encounter Hook:
As the party steps into the abandoned fairground, one carousel horse creaks into motion — its rider, a skeletal figure in rotting finery, turns its hollow gaze towards them and lifts a corroded blade. The other horses are beginning to move too.

Details

Printed at 32mm scale. The model comes attached to its integrated decorative base. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming — whether you go full fairground gilt or a more unsettling, weathered palette, this sculpt has the detail to reward both approaches. Each piece is quality checked before dispatch; minor marks from the printing process are possible and easily tidied up before painting.
