Description

In the blood-soaked wastelands of the Abyss, canoloths serve as trackers and enforcers for demon lords — relentless, armoured brutes whose spiked tendrils can drag prey across a battlefield before it has time to scream.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This sculpt from Epic Miniatures captures the canoloth in full aggressive lunge — crouching low, one clawed hand raking forward while the other arm is cocked back with savage momentum. The creature's thick, scaled body is fitted with heavy segmented plate armour across the chest and shoulders, studded pauldrons, and riveted knee guards, giving it the look of a demonic enforcer kitted out for prolonged battlefield duty rather than a mindless beast. Its head — if you can call it that — is a cluster of lamprey-like teeth and fleshy protrusions, convulsing forward as if tasting the air for its quarry.

The detail that truly sets this sculpt apart is the whip-like barbed tendril coiling out from the creature's left side, lined with sharp recurved spines along its entire length. This is the canoloth's signature weapon — a lashing, raking appendage that in D&D 5e carries the threat of a paralysing bite. The tendril's texture contrasts beautifully against the smoother armour plates and the leathery hide beneath, giving painters a rich variety of surfaces to work with.

The rear of the sculpt is no less considered: the layered dorsal armour fans outward across the back, spiked along the spine, with a secondary barbed tail curling behind — a detail that rewards painters who display the miniature in the round, and makes it equally arresting from any angle on the table.

This is a large-format miniature mounted on a 51mm base, giving it the physical presence its lore demands. Whether you're running a yugoloth warband encounter in the Abyss or building a demonic enforcer for a Fiendish patron arc, this canoloth has the weight and menace to anchor the scene.

  • Adventurers running Descent into Avernus or custom Abyssal campaigns
  • Dungeon Masters who want a visually distinct yugoloth for encounter variety
  • Painters looking for a complex sculpt with contrasting textures — armour, hide, spines, and tendrils
  • Collectors building a fiend or demon warband for display

Encounter Hook: The party tracks a missing merchant into the ruins of a razed village, only to find a canoloth already there — crouching over the wreckage, its tendril coiled around a bound figure it was paid to retrieve. The demon lords don't send canoloths to kill. They send them to bring things back. Whatever that merchant knew, someone in the Nine Hells wants it very badly.
