Before the party heard it, they smelled it — a wet, mineral reek rising from the tunnel floor as something vast and armoured rounded the corner, its spined tongue already uncoiling towards the rearmost fighter.

The Canoloth is one of the more unsettling members of the yugoloth family — and that is saying something in a lineage that includes soul-eating fiends and plane-hopping mercenaries. Built low and wide like a nightmare crossed with a war machine, this sculpt captures the creature's defining anatomy with genuine fidelity: the massive, ridged carapace plated in overlapping armoured segments, the clawed feet braced low against the ground in a predatory crouch, and that extraordinary tongue — a long, barbed, segmented appendage tipped with a ring of inward-curving teeth, looping out and around in a full arc beneath the body.

The surface detail across the shell and flanks is exceptional, with flame-like chitin crests rising from the shoulders and haunches, dense warty texturing across the underbelly, and deeply scored segment lines dividing the armoured plates. A second smaller circular mouth-ring is also visible near the creature's rear haunch — a grim reminder that nearly every part of a Canoloth is a weapon. In the images, the miniature is presented as an unpainted resin render, giving a clear view of the sculpt's depth and clarity across every angle.

In D&D 5e lore, Canoloths serve as trackers and sentinels — yugoloth mercenaries hired to guard locations or hunt specific quarry across the planes. Their tongues can immobilise prey, and they are immune to teleportation, making them particularly dangerous in an Underdark ambush or as guardians of an Abyssal stronghold. On the table, this miniature reads instantly as a threat: the hunched posture, the circling tongue, and the sheer physical mass of the sculpt give Dungeon Masters something genuinely menacing to place on the grid.
