Cairns have marked the edges of the known world since before maps existed. On the tabletop, they do the same — a cluster of stacked river stones that tells your players they are not the first to pass this way. This set includes three cairns of varying heights: a tall, tapering stack of a dozen smooth stones, a mid-height cluster, and a small squat pair — each sculpted with convincing surface texture and natural weight. Arrange them together as a druidic waypoint, scatter them across a wilderness hex, or place them at the entrance to a forgotten barrow. They read immediately at the table and photograph beautifully on a shelf.
Whether your adventurers are following a trail left by a long-dead ranger, stumbling across a cairn that seems to have gained a new stone overnight, or realising with creeping unease that the stones are arranged in a pattern matching a map they found in a dead man's pack — these pieces reward attention to atmosphere. Equally at home in a forest clearing, a windswept moor, or the entrance to an ancient tomb.

Encounter Hook:
The party crests the hill to find a dozen cairns arranged in a wide circle — none of them on any map. At the centre, the ground has been freshly turned. The ranger notices the stones aren't local to this region. The druid notices they aren't random. And the rogue notices that one of the outer cairns has a stone on top that's still wet.
This set is scaled to 32mm and suits any TTRPG system. Can be supplied with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Arrives ready for priming and painting, or use as-is straight out of the box. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor marks may occasionally be present and are easily touched up.
