Description

The carnival came to town three nights ago — and the cage at the back of the painted cart has not been empty since.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

Whether it hauls a captive beast, a kidnapped noble, or something far worse through cobbled city streets, the Caged Circus Cart is one of those scatter terrain pieces that immediately tells your players a story before a word of narration has been spoken. The sculpt is richly detailed — ornate carved roof medallion framed by spread fans, heavily draped curtains tied back with braided cords, a hanging lantern swinging from a side bracket, and a wheeled undercarriage complete with a wooden draw-shaft and spoked wheels stamped with shell motifs. Every surface rewards a painter willing to pick out the layered textures.

The cage bars beneath the draped curtains are visible through the fabric, giving the piece a genuinely sinister undertone that sits just as comfortably in a gothic travelling circus campaign as it does in a straightforward kidnapping encounter. Two size variants appear in the promotional imagery — one larger and one noticeably more compact — making this a versatile addition to any travelling show, marketplace, or roadside encounter setup.

Equally at home as a gaming table centrepiece or a display shelf set piece, the Caged Circus Cart rewards adventurers who take their time with washes and dry-brushing across all that carved woodwork.

This terrain piece suits adventurers who want to:

  • Build out a carnival, travelling circus, or dark faire encounter
  • Add a narrative focal point to an urban chase or kidnapping plot
  • Create atmosphere in a Ravenloft, gothic horror, or intrigue-heavy campaign
  • Add a characterful display piece to a diorama or painted terrain collection

Encounter Hook: The party follows a trail of missing persons to the edge of town, where Madame Vellara's Travelling Menagerie has made camp. The Caged Circus Cart sits apart from the other wagons, curtains drawn tight, and something behind the bars is very deliberately not making any sound at all.
