Description

Somewhere between a black-market menagerie and a warlord's trophy room, the cage swings gently — and inside it, wings pressed tight against the bars, a pair of sharp eyes watches every move you make.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Caged Avian is one of those miniatures that tells a story before a single word of dialogue is spoken. A winged humanoid figure crouches within a tall, ornate birdcage — wooden bars bound with rope and draped with torn cloth, feathers scattered at the base like evidence of a struggle. The figure's posture is coiled rather than broken: watchful, calculating, waiting. Whether this is a prisoner of slavers, a captured celestial, a fallen aarakocra scout, or something more dangerous wearing the look of innocence — that is entirely up to your table.

The sculpt comes in three separate pieces (cage, avian figure, and base), allowing for easy assembly and giving painters full access to the interior detail. The cage itself is richly textured — the draped fabric, knotted rope, and scattered feathers give it real weight as a set piece, equally at home on a tabletop encounter map or a display shelf.

Brilliant for adventurers who:

  • Need a vivid, morally ambiguous NPC to anchor a rescue mission or interrogation scene
  • Are running a campaign involving slavers, collectors of exotic creatures, or planar intrigue
  • Want a display piece that rewards close inspection from every angle
  • Play or DM with an aarakocra, kenku, or any winged character at the table

Encounter Hook:
The party is hired to retrieve a stolen item from a travelling merchant's wagon — but when they crack open the locked cargo hold, they find not jewels but this: a caged avian, wings clipped, watching them with an expression that is equal parts relief and suspicion. She says she knows where the real cargo is hidden. She says she can lead them there. She says a lot of things. Whether any of it is true is the question that will follow the party for the next three sessions.
