Cage by Mia Kay M3DM

- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
This cylindrical palisade cage is a sturdy piece of scatter terrain that brings immediate narrative weight to any encounter. Constructed from tightly bound wooden poles lashed with crossbeams and crowned with sharpened stakes, it reads as a makeshift but purposeful structure — the kind of thing a goblin warband, a tribal encampment, or a desperate frontier garrison might throw together to hold something (or someone) they don't intend to let go. The tightly interlocked pole construction and protruding spikes suggest this isn't just decoration — whatever is inside is meant to stay there.
Equally at home on a wilderness battle map or as a dressing piece in a dungeon antechamber, this cage adds instant story to your table. It's a compelling centrepiece for both active gaming sessions and display or diorama setups.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Are building goblin camps, bandit outposts, or tribal wilderness encounters
- Want scatter terrain that doubles as a plot device — who's in the cage?
- Are creating diorama scenes or display setups with strong narrative detail
- Need evocative dungeon dressing beyond the standard chest-and-barrel variety
Encounter Hook:
The party crests the ridge to find a goblin encampment below — and in the centre, a familiar wooden cage holding a bound figure in the colours of the missing merchant guild. The goblins haven't noticed the party yet. The cage door is padlocked. And something much larger than a goblin is sleeping beside it.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. Ready for priming and painting straight out of the box, or use as-is for an unpainted wood-tone look that works surprisingly well on the table. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin terrain, minor surface marks are possible and easily tidied up with a file or fine sandpaper.
