This is Butler 01 — a stocky, well-dressed manservant rendered in exceptional detail at 32mm scale. He stands in a composed, slightly guarded pose: one arm folded across his chest, the other resting at his side, a folded cloth draped over his forearm. He wears a fitted waistcoat with visible buttons, a cravat tied at the throat, knee breeches with bow-tied garters, and buckled shoes — the full livery of a household retainer from a wealthy or aristocratic estate.
His face is expressive and carries a watchful, calculating quality — the look of a man who has seen a great deal and chosen carefully what to reveal. Whether he is hiding a terrible secret, serving as an unwitting witness, or quietly orchestrating events behind the scenes, this sculpt gives your Dungeon Master ample storytelling material. The sculpt captures fine fabric folds, subtle musculature beneath the clothing, and enough character in the face to make him memorable on the table.
This variation — 01 — depicts him in his neutral standing pose with cloth in hand, distinct from other butler variants. The confident, slightly ominous composure suits everything from a Ravenloft manor mystery to a noble's townhouse in Waterdeep.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run gothic horror or mystery-driven campaigns set in haunted manors or noble estates
- Need a memorable NPC to greet, obstruct, or unsettle the party
- Are building out a Curse of Strahd or Ravenloft encounter with household staff
- Want a character who looks entirely respectable and therefore cannot be trusted
- Collect finely sculpted human NPCs for display or character studies
Encounter Hook
The party has been invited to Lord Ashvane's estate to investigate a series of disappearances among the staff. As they arrive at the front door, it opens before they can knock — and the butler regards them with quiet, measured disdain. He has already been watching from the upstairs window for several minutes. He knows exactly why they are here. He will tell them almost nothing.
