The Bullywug Ninja is not the bog-standard frog-folk your players think they know. This sculpt depicts a stout, wide-eyed bullywug clad in layered cloth wrappings and a rope-knotted sash, with two short blades crossed at its back and clawed hands raised in a fighting stance that sits somewhere between martial discipline and amphibian menace. The bulbous eyes are sharp and watchful, the posture coiled with intent — this is a creature that has turned its natural stillness into a weapon. Whether you need a roguish assassin, an unexpected swamp-cult enforcer, or a truly chaotic NPC that catches your players completely off guard, this miniature brings something genuinely distinctive to the table.
In D&D 5e, bullywugs are humanoid creatures native to swamps, marshes, and the wetter reaches of the Underdark fringe — but there's nothing stopping a creative DM from placing this particular individual at the heart of a hidden ninja clan, a Feywild court of chaos, or a thieves' guild that operates exclusively from a lake district. Painted in muted greens and muddy browns with bright amber eyes, this mini would be a joy for any hobbyist painter — though it holds its own unpainted on the table too.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run swamp, wetland, or Feywild-adjacent encounters with a twist
- Want a bullywug mini that reads as a genuine threat, not just a mook
- Are building a martial-arts-themed creature faction or rogue's guild
- Love painting characterful non-human sculpts with strong silhouettes
- Collect unusual and flavourful monster miniatures for their display shelf
Encounter Hook:
The village elder swears the disappearances only started after the old drainage channel flooded — but the party's tracker has found footprints leading away from the latest scene: three-toed, barefoot, and accompanied by two long parallel marks in the mud that look very much like blade tips being dragged.
Scaled to 32mm and available with or without a plain black base. The base is supplied unattached and can be glued on at your preference. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks or small imperfections can occasionally occur and are easily cleaned up before priming.
